And then there are those that are just on for the ride, and once the storm is over, they hurry to disembark, at the first bit of land that appears, as long as there is a port where the ship can anchor. A tavern where they can drink, and a bed to frolic in…

This is just a short fairy-tale, a little masterpiece by Jose Saramago that takes no longer than one hour to be read and enjoyed word by word. But a life time will not be enough to forget it. (I think).
